SHEQ Coordinator

To effectively manage and oversee the plants Health & Safety & Quality & environmental systems and requirements to ensure its adherence to the Company’s H&S Quality and Environmental Policies. To ensure the continued accreditation of BSI EN ISO 9001 & 14001.

Key Tasks

  • To manage and maintain the local H&S policy, developing best practice and review related documents
  • To provide support and control all local Environmental policies
  • To maintain the internal H&S & quality & environmental audit schedule reporting regularly to the General Manager
  • To attend local H&S & Management meetings
  • To complete spot H&S checks and mini audits regularly throughout the year and report accordingly to the GM
  • To assist in H&S events, ensuring that all records are maintained as per the H&S Audit Grid, checking and updating Target 100 accordingly
  • To advise all nominated representatives of all H&S actions due at the beginning of every month, as per the Audit Grid
  • Produce and regularly update local Master Contractors List
  • To compile a record of the location of local department H&S documentation, keeping the record up to date by regular auditing
  • To send all accidents, RIDDOR’s, near misses & H&S paperwork to the Technical Dept. Co-ordinator upon completion
  • To ensure all procedures are maintained, audited bi-annually and necessary amendments made
  • To ensure all non-conformities and deficiency reports are investigated and corrective actions taken
  • To ensure that the customer enquiry report and the monthly non-conforming materials report are produced and circulated monthly
  • To assist the engineering department with commissioning of new plant and equipment procedure as required
  • Complete regular audits of staff training records – to ensure 3 year refresher training requirements are met
  • Complete quality checks of garment processing i.e. temperature checks on washer extractors and tunnel finishing
  • Investigate customer quality issues – providing accurate analysis of issues and proposing corrective actions in line with Co policies
  • Complete quality checks on a percentage of all garments being prepared for installation to new accounts

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role. Be both flexible and adaptable in their approach with good people skills as they would be working within a busy production environment and be expected to meet the needs of the business. You will have knowledge and understanding of current health and safety legislation, regulations, codes of practice and have experience of working towards or maintaining ISO 9001 and/or ISO 14001.
