At Johnsons Workwear, we’re proud to be part of Johnson Service Group (JSG) – a leading textile services provider across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. And today, even more so.
We’re delighted to share the news that JSG has been awarded Silver Medal status by EcoVadis, the world’s most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings.
This impressive recognition places our company amongst the top 15% of over 130,000 companies assessed globally, highlighting strong performance across four critical areas:
- Environment
- Labour & Human Rights
- Ethics
- Sustainable Procurement
The Silver rating is a significant milestone that reflects the robust sustainability practices being implemented across the group.
Since 2022, JSG has achieved an 11% reduction in carbon intensity and a 13% reduction in water intensity – clear evidence of our commitment to environmental progress. Investments in energy-efficient equipment, waste reduction initiatives, and ethical supply chain practices have all contributed to this achievement.
Furthermore, as a trusted partner to industries including manufacturing, hospitality, and healthcare, JSG – and by extension, Johnsons Workwear –plays a vital role in helping our customers reach their own sustainability goals.
“We’re incredibly proud to receive a Silver Medal status from EcoVadis. This recognition reflects the real progress we’re making in integrating sustainability into every aspect of our business, from reducing water and energy use in our laundering processes to sourcing more sustainable linen and textile products. It’s a testament to our team’s dedication and a milestone in our journey to be the responsible business partner of choice.”
Peter Egan, CEO of JSG
Looking ahead, the group has set ambitious targets for 2030 – our Vision 2030 – including a 40% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 CO₂ emissions intensity and a 25% reduction in water consumption intensity. These goals are just a handful of examples that truly highlight our commitment to driving positive change – both within our operations, and across the sectors we serve.
“Sustainability is no longer optional, it’s expected. Our strategy, ‘The Johnsons Way’, commits us to continuous improvement and transparency as we work toward better outcomes for our customers, communities, and the planet. The recent release of our 2024 Sustainability Report highlights the progress we’ve made so far and the concrete steps we’re taking to deliver on that commitment.”
