We are currently recruiting a Transport Supervisor for our site in Perth, to effectively Manage the staff and functions of the Transport Department in a way that satisfies both Customer and Company, fulfils the Customer Commitment and achieves targets.

 

Key Tasks

  • To ensure each day’s items are loaded/unloaded from the vehicles and delivered and returned to Customers according to the Agreement
  • To ensure all vehicles and equipment are checked, repaired and maintained in line with manufacturers recommendations and current legislation
  • To ensure that the requirements of the Operator’s License are adhered to at all times
  • To plan routes cost effectively
  • To establish & maintain good Customer relations and act as liaison between Customer and Company
  • To fully utilise the AS400 computer system, as appropriate
  • To carry out duties as laid down in BS EN ISO 9001: 2008 / 14001 Local Working Instructions and Company Operations Manual which may be updated from time to time
  • To recruit staff in consultation with the Transport Manager and General Manager
  • To provide ongoing training for all staff from start of service and throughout their employment and regularly review their training and development
  • To ensure the welfare of all staff in the department
  • To forward queries and keep managers, supervisors, colleagues informed as necessary
  • To keep all costs to or below budget
  • To keep accurate records where required
  • To wear and enforce the wearing and use of Personal Protective Equipment and handling aids, where supplied, at all times for all relevant tasks
  • To enforce and carry out all tasks to comply with Company Policy on Health & Safety & COSHH requirements
  • To enforce and comply with Company Policies and the Terms and Conditions of Employment and follow Company Procedures
  • To keep work area clean, tidy, safe and secure at all times
  • To attend training courses as required
  • To foster and maintain good working relations throughout the Company
  • To maintain confidentiality of Company and Customer business
  • Other Ad hoc duties as required
